Does getting outside help in any way?
By: AdamL.
Hook: Have you ever thought that getting outside did anything? I will answer that question and tell you why.
Intro: In this presentation I will tell you some good reasons why I think being outside is good for you. I will also tell you the bad things about staying inside all the time and not going outside.
Main Body: (making a connection) In my family we have a rule that we have to go outside before we get to play video games. Me and my brother always scream and whine that we don’t want to go outside, but when we get outside it feels so good to be out there. Then after a while we don’t want to go back inside at all!
The good reasons why you should get outside: Scientists say, spending time outdoors, especially in a green environment, can make us happier, and less-stressed. It can also improve focus and boost our overall immune systems(the system that fights back against colds). Being outside can make you feel better too. Scientists also say, spending time outside improves your mind, independence, confidence, creativity, decision-making and problem-solving skills. It also helps your hand-eye-coordination and you will become more patient. You can also learn a lot by just going for a walk outside! Being outside helps you learn skills that might be useful in the future.
Some theories say, staying inside can make you angry, grumpy, and you will not get the vitamin d that you would normally get from the sun that helps your bones grow. Some people take vitamin d pills if they have trouble going outside because of things like allergies, but you should go outside so you get the proper amount. You also might find that you are not getting enough good sleep at night. You may also start to feel more lonely if you don’t get outside and interact with nature and other people.
Closing Part: (Parents: “Get outside and stop typing on the computer!”). Now that I am done presenting, I suggest you get outside and prove to yourself that what I just said is true, so you know that for a fact getting outside can improve your mind and body. I might go outside myself right now before my parents get mad at me. Bye! 🙂
